Cage Warriors 88 gets 2nd title fight: Lee Chadwick vs. Victor Cheng

Next month’s Cage Warriors 88 event now has a second title fight.

Officials today announced a matchup between Lee Chadwick (23-13-1) and Victor Cheng (11-2), who fight for the organization’s vacant middleweight belt.

Cage Warriors 88 takes place Oct. 28 at Echo Arena in Liverpool, England, and the main card streams on UFC Fight Pass following prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

The middleweight title became vacant when champ Oskar Piechota signed with the UFC.

Chadwick, a 32-year-old Englishman, is on a 4-1 run that includes recent first-round submission wins over Tommy Quinn and Andy Manzolo under the Cage Warriors banner. The 11-year pro fights in his hometown while looking for his 20th stoppage victory in 24 career wins.

He takes on Cheng, a 32-year-old Swedish fighter who’s riding a four-fight winning streak with 10 victories in his past 11 fights. In his most recent bout, the nine-year pro picked up a unanimous-decision victory over Leeroy Barnes at Cage Warriors 78.

Champ Chris Fishgold gets challenger for Cage Warriors 88 headliner

Lightweight champion Chris Fishgold has an opponent for his Cage Warriors 88 headliner.

Officials today announced Fishgold (16-1-1) will meet challenger Alexander Jacobsen (8-1) in the championship main event.

Cage Warriors 88 takes place Oct. 28 at Echo Arena in Liverpool, England, and it streams on UFC Fight Pass.

Fishgold has won six straight bouts, which included a submission victory over Adam Boussif for the vacant title and defenses over Jason Ponet (64-second submission) and Nic Herron-Webb (decision). The 24-year-old is 7-0 under the Cage Warriors banner and owns 13 stoppages in 16 career wins.

He now takes on Jacobsen, a 29-year-old Norwegian fighter who’s 2-0 since joining Cage Warriors with a TKO win over Tim Wilde and a decision victory over Tom Green. The three-year pro has gone 8-0 with seven stoppages since losing his pro debut in 2014.

As previously announced, a number of other Liverpool fighters are slated for the card, including former featherweight champion Paddy Pimblett (13-2), flyweight prospect Molly McCann (5-1), lightweight contender Martin Stapleton (19-5) and middleweight vet Lee Chadwick (23-13-1).

Lee Chadwick vs. Andy Manzolo among Cage Warriors 85 additions

This month’s Cage Warriors 85 event has a trio of new additions.

Officials today announced the bouts, which include middleweights Lee Chadwick (22-13-1) vs. Andy Manzolo (15-5).

Cage Warriors 85 takes place June 24 at O2 Academy in Bournemouth, England, and the event streams on UFC Fight Pass.

Chadwick, a 32-year-old Englishman, is on a 3-1 run following a recent submission victory over Tommy Quinn at Cage Warriors 82. It marked the BAMMA and ACB vet’s 18th stoppage in 22 career wins going back to his 2006 pro debut. He meets Manzolo, a 32-year-old Estonian fighter who fights for Cage Warriors for the first since 2014. He’s currently on a 4-1 run that included a submission win – his ninth in 15 career victories – over Shaun Lomas (21-68) at a regional show in England.

Other new bouts include featherweights Danny Randolph (1-0) vs. Hughie O’Rourke (0-1) and female featherweight Leah McCourt (0-0), who’s also an IMMAF amateur world champion, vs. Rizlen Zoua (0-0), a judo Olympian for France.
