One of the 20 fighters on this past Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 116 event is facing an indefinite suspension following his promotional debut.

Zu Anyanwu

Heavyweight Zu Anyanwu (14-5 MMA, 0-1 UFC) needs to be medically cleared for a right eye injury before he’s allowed to return after his split-decision loss to Justin Ledet (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) to open up the main card.

MMAjunkie today requested and received from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission a list of the medical suspensions from the event, which took place at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. The card aired on FS1.

A total of 11 fighters on the card received suspensions in excess of the automatic seven-day variety. In the main event, former two-division WSOF champion David Branch (21-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC) tapped to strikes against Luke Rockhold (16-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) in the second round and was given a 45-day medical suspension for facial lacerations.

In the co-feature, Alex Reyes (13-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) stepped in for Thiago Alves on just three days’ notice to fight Mike Perry (11-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC), but was knocked out quickly into the first round. He received a 60-day sit from the commission.

Watch Uriah Hall's epic comeback win at UFC-Pittsburgh

You just never know which Uriah Hall (13-8 MMA, 6-6 UFC) you’re going get in the cage. Krzysztof Jotko (19-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) got both.

Jotko was in complete control of the first round of the middleweight matchup on the FS1-televised preliminary card of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 116 event at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. Then things turned in the opposite direction in the second frame, with Hall coming alive and scoring a highlight-reel finish, stemming from a brutal right hand.

Check out the end of the fight above.

UFC-Pittsburgh results: Uriah Hall survives Krzysztof Jotko beating, scores crushing knockout

Uriah Hall has been plagued with inconsistency in his UFC career, sometimes looking unbeatable, other times not so much. Against Krzysztof Jotko, he was both.

The middleweight matchup took place on the FS1-televised prelims of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 116 from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.

Jotko wasted no time getting started, sprinting out to pressure and firing punches from all angles. Hall circled right on the outside and tried to set up a counter, eventually moving out to the center. However, Jotko walked him back to the cage and landed a clean uppercut that sent Hall stumbling. Jotko continued the attack with more uppercuts that snapped his opponent’s head back and then shot inside to take the fight to the floor, quickly moving to mount. Hall turned his back, and Jotko happily sunk in his hooks and continued to strike while also searching for the choke. A dazed Hall crawled to his feet but quickly found himself back on the floor and mounted. Somehow, Hall battled his way back to his feet in an incredible show of heart, but the round was certainly one-sided.

Jotko was again the aggressor to start the second, though Hall answered with a few spinning strikes, looking to swing the momentum in his direction. Eventually, though, it was a devastating straight right that landed for Hall, sending Jotko crashing to the canvas. Hall jumped on top with additional punches to seal the incredible comeback win at the 2:25 mark of the frame.

With the much-needed win, Hall (13-8 MMA, 6-6 UFC) snaps a three-fight losing streak. Jotko (19-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) has now dropped back-to-back fights for the first time in his career.

Before UFC-Pittsburgh main event, watch David Branch's successful return to the UFC

Earlier this year, David Branch made some waves when he vacated his pair of WSOF titles to return to the UFC.

His trip back was a successful one. Branch took a split decision from Krzysztof Jotko at UFC 211 in May, running his winning streak to 11. The bout was his first in the UFC since 2011. After his first stint with the promotion, he eventually caught on with WSOF and won both the middleweight and light heavyweight titles.

On Saturday, Branch (21-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) gets arguably the biggest fight of his career when he takes on former UFC middleweight champ Luke Rockhold (15-3 MMA, 5-2 UFC) in the UFC Fight Night 116 main event at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. The card airs on FS1 following an early prelim on UFC Fight Pass.

Can Branch pull off the upset and insert himself into middleweight title contention? We’ll find out on Saturday. But first, check out his win over Jotko in full above.
